Welcome to Ken’s DC Tours.  I am excited about showing you Washington, DC, in one of three ways:

  • Walking.  Learn about the history and architecture of a wide variety of areas in DC, from the Mall, White House, and Capitol, to the neighborhoods that give this city its uniqueness.  See some of the unique sculptures and parks that are off the beaten track and hear how the modern city is intimately tied to the city of Pierre L’Enfant, the  Civil War, the New Deal, the 60’s, and WDC’s current “renaissance”.  And let’s not  forget Georgetown!
  • Running.  Take a 5K, 10K, or 10 mile run through a diverse set of areas:  See all the main monuments and circle the Tidal Basin (Cherry Blossom trees and Jefferson Memorial).  Or, run to Arlington Cemetery (some sections we will need to walk thru, rather than run) and then on to the Iwo Jima memorial.   Longer runs to and thru the Zoo, too.  Pace:  9:30 – 11:30 min/mile.
  • A bike ride down some of the great paths winding thru the central core of  DC and down  to Alexandria, past the airport, and across the Wilson Bridge to the National Harbor.  Or up to the zoo thru beautiful Rock Creek Park, laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted,  the landscape architect who designed NYC’s Central Park.  Easy pace, safe routes.

Whatever way you want to see and learn about DC, let me show you this great city.
